TikTok You permissions
By TikTok You Published
TikTok You permissions below are the uses-permission entries in the current file's manifest. This page does not describe a runtime trace of the app.
Camera, microphone, and media
The manifest requests the camera and the microphone. A short-video client uses those to record. It also requests read access to photos, video, and audio, which on Android 13 and later appear as separate prompts. Older storage read and write entries are in the list as well, for phones that still use the older storage model.
Grant the prompt when you want the app to record or to pick a file. Deny it when you do not. A denied camera prompt blocks recording. It does not block scrolling the feed.
Contacts and notifications
The manifest requests contacts. This site has not watched whether the app reads the list, uploads it, or only offers a people-picker. If you do not want that access, deny the prompt. The install can finish either way.
Notifications are requested so the app can post them. Android 13 and later asks for that permission on its own. You can leave it off and still open the client.
Network and billing
Internet access is requested. The feed does not load without it. The manifest also declares Play billing, so the app can offer purchases. The APK on the download page has no price. A free download does not remove those purchase prompts.
What the list does not include
The parsed uses-permission list does not include fine location or coarse location. It also does not include the advertising-ID permission. That is a statement about the manifest, not a statement that the app never shows an ad. The feed settings include a switch to hide ads, which is covered in TikTok You feed settings.
Root is not in this list and is not required to install. The sideload steps are in how to install TikTok You.
